YELLOW SUBMARINE BATH BOMB | REVIEW

I am SO excited to be writing this review! The Beatles are by far my favourite band of all time and I was so happy when Lush decided to bring out a Beatles-themed bath bomb! I first caught a glimpse of this bath bomb on Lush’s instagram. It was released at the 2017 Lush Summit in London. I live about 6 hours from London and I definitely couldn’t afford the train fare so I wasn’t able to make it down. This was the product from the Summit that I loved the most and I was so so SO happy when Lush decided to make it an official main line item!

Yellow Submarine is utterly breathtaking, from it’s design to it’s scent. It’s obviously named after the well-known Beatles song (and album) “Yellow Submarine”, which is a personal favourite of mine! It’s scent very much captures a tropical scene, with beautiful Brazilian Orange Oil, which gives your skin a boost of refreshment. It doesn’t specifically say this in the ingredients, but I did hint a slight scent of Coconut as well, which definitely added to the tropical vibes. It also contains Lemongrass oil, which is a fab natural antiseptic.

It’s made of up of two main colours: vibrant yellow and pink, which turn your bath water a gorgeous peach colour, with glints of the “Fandango” lustre (don’t worry, the lustre is quite minimal for people who prefer less glittery baths).

It’s a slow fizzer, so you can enjoy it’s beautiful swirls of pink and yellow in the water for the duration of your bath. I personally prefer faster fizzing bombs, but I can understand why people enjoy long-lasting bombs.

Yellow Submarine is a super moisturising bath bomb and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. The lustre is quite subtle, so I didn’t really have any that stayed on my skin (no problems with bath staining either).

Overall, this is a fabulous bath bomb and I’m definitely going to be stocking up! And for only £3.95, this bath bomb has such great value for money!

Hope you enjoyed this review and watch out for brand new reviews on some of the latest Lush releases!

BRIGHTSIDE BUBBLE BAR | REVIEW

Another review for you guys, and this time it’s Brightside bubble bar! I’ve noticed this product before but I’ve never really given it a second look. For a while I’ve been attracted to “wow” factor baths, with pretty bath art and glitter. I’ve stuck mainly to bath bombs I know and love, but this time I thought I’d branch out. It seemed like a good investment, as must people seem to say that it can last for up to 4 baths. As a very economical lushie, this made my heart sing! I’m always very disappointed when a bubble bar can barely manage 2 baths.

Let’s talk about the smell first, which I feel is the highlight of this bubble bar. It’s very uplifting and refreshing, with Tangerine oil (top contender for one of my favourite scented oils), Sicilian Mandarin oil and Bergamot oil. Obviously, it’s super citrusy, so if you’re not really into that, this isn’t a subtle scent at all! I enjoyed it in my evening bath, but I can imagine the refreshing scent to be a good wake up call in the morning (PLEASE come out with a shower gel Lush)!

The appearance of the bubble bar is what you’d expect of a product named “Brightside”. The orange, red and yellow swirls remind me a of sunrise/sunset. It is quite a chunky bubble bar and I had to use a knife to cut it into quarters. It produces tonnes and tonnes of bubbles, so I feel if you were feeling frugal you could stretch it to maybe 5 or 6 baths (depending on how bubbly you like your baths). It turns the water a bright orange colour, with no glitter or lustre (perfect for hotel baths!).

Overall, great bubble bar and I’d definitely recommend it! It’s got great value for money at £4.95 (which is good if you consider it can comfortably do 4 baths – that’s only £1.25 a bath!) and the scent is to die for! (If you like orange Fanta, you’ll LOVE this!)

I’m really, really hoping Lush expands the Brightside family, I’d love a shower gel/jelly and maybe a scrub?

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Sicilian Mandarin Oil, Tangerine Oil, Bergamot Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Gardenia Extract, Colour 14700, Colour 15510

Hope you enjoyed the review, lots more to come!

Intergalactic bath bomb | Review

Hey guys, back with another bath bomb review and it’s another classic – Intergalactic! This truly is one of Lush’s most iconic bath bombs and it was one my own first. If you’re looking for that bright blue, glittery Lush bath, then this is the one for you!

Intergalactic has always been a firm favourite and I’ve been repurchasing it for years. There was a period of time when it was banned in my house, because I forgot to wash the bath out and the glitter stained the tub, but those dark days are behind me now.

It’s a very refreshing bath bomb, with Peppermint Oil taking centre stage. This, mixed with Grapefruit oil, gives your bath a gorgeous minty yet citrus scent. I’ve found it to be a good mood-booster for when you’re having a meh type of day. It’s certainly my go-to for when my depression is just too much to handle!

This is a very colourful bath bomb, featuring neon blue, yellow and pink. These colours combined great a deep blue galaxy in your bath. Popping candy adds an element of surprise and really makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

Intergalactic is absolutely packed with lustre (three types to be exact), which isn’t for everyone. If you decide to give this one a go, please rinse your bath straight after it drains! It will stain your bath tub!

It retails for £4.25 (a little heartbroken, swear it used to be below £4), but it’s well worth it. Personally, I’d stockpile them so you’ll have one ready for when you have one of those days.

If you’re still unsure, pop into your local Lush store and ask for a demo! You won’t be disappointed!

Hope you enjoyed the review, more coming soon!

The Comforter bubble bar | Review

This is a product that came in my Happy Bathday birthday tin. It’s quite small, so I think it may be the mini version? I was so excited to receive this on my birthday as I’ve been really craving a bubble bar!

I am familiar with the scent, as I’ve had The Comforter shower gel, which I really loved. The scent is quite medicinal and to me the scent has a berry undertone to it? That’s just my personal  opinion of the scent. It’s a very strong scent, so just bear that in mind if you’re considering giving this bubble bar a go. The scent is very, well, comforting, so perfect for winter evening baths.

Really nice bubble bar, and lasts for more than one bath too! I have used half of it so far and it made my bath water turn deep pink and it produced a lot of bubbles. I imagine the larger size could be split into quarters and used for 4 baths! This bubble bar (full size) retails for £4.75.

Hope you enjoyed this post,

Blackberry bath bomb | Review

For my 19th birthday, my parents surprised me with the Lush Happy Bathday box, which includes 6 amazing products, including the Blackberry bath bomb.

This bath bomb is a pretty deceptive one. It’s light blue colour completely changes once it’s dropped into the bathtub. It turns the water a bright purple colour and there’s a little surprise at the end, which I won’t spoil for those who want to give this bath bomb a go!

The key ingredient of the bath bomb is Frankincense oil, which gives off a nice “woody” aroma. It’s very relaxing and it stays on your skin (and hair) for hours after your bath. It only mildly tints the bath water, so you don’t have to worry about staining!

I’d definitely recommend this bath bomb for cold winter days. However, this isn’t the bath bomb for you if you’re looking for a show, Blackberry is quite a slow, subtle fizzer!

This bath bomb retails for £3.35, one of the cheaper bath bombs, so don’t be afraid to give it a go!

Hope you’ve enjoyed this quick little review and Merry Christmas (and Happy Holidays!).

Shimmy Shimmy shimmer bar

This is a really nice novel product, that lasts for ages & is definitely worth every penny.

This product is used to bring a bit of shine to your skin and also moisturises at the same time. I bought this back in December and I am no where near to finishing it, as you can see! Really love the smell of this product, really buttery and creamy. It feels very soft on the skin and leaves behind little flecks of glitter. I have mainly used this for parties/events, but can be used for everyday where if you’re feeling bold.

Definitely a must have for the festival season!

RRP: £4.95

Since this is a solid product, they won’t give you a sample of this.

Dream Cream hand and body lotion

Absolutely adore this!

It has such a nice smell to it, which really lingers after use. There is definitely a reason why this is one of Lush’s no.1 products. This has a really soothing formula, which is perfect for anyone who suffers with dry hands. I have very sensitive skin and so far I have no adverse reactions, so great for skin that is easily irritated.

I have also found this product to be good at calming down eczema, which I suffer from a lot. Contains some really nice oils, like Lavender oil and tea tree oil, which add to it’s gorgeous scent.

Would definitely give this a go guys!

RRP: £6.25
