Before I start the review, I’d like to express my deepest condolences to those affected by the events that took place in London last night. People can be so selfish and evil. Remember that the world is not all bad and these horrific events should not stop anyone enjoying life to the fullest. London, you are in everyone’s hearts. ❤
It’s important to carry on doing what you love after such events, so here’s my review of one of my most recent Lush purchases – The Rough With The Smooth body scrub (TRWTS). I’ve recently thrown all my energy into revitalising my skin routine, to help my skin stay moisturised and fresh throughout the summer months. I went to Lush with the intention of buying a scrub to use in the shower/bath, and I wasn’t at all disappointed. Lush have so many amazing scrubs, but TRWTS stood out for me. The smell was very familiar to me, and I was informed that it shared it’s scent with the Lord of Misrule shower cream, one of my all time favourite products! I was instantly sold. I tested it out on my skin and it was amazing! The scent lingered for the rest of the day and it made my skin feel so smooth and exfoliated.
It’s amazing scent is down to Patchouli oil, Black Pepper oil and Vanilla Absolute, which combine to create that iconic scent. I really miss Lord of Misrule when it’s not Halloween time, so discovering a permanent product which shares it’s scent has changed my life! I look forward to using it in my morning showers as it just gives my skin such an amazing feeling and it’s perfect for exfoliating my legs for wearing shorts! The soft Murumuru butter helps to moisturise your skin as the sugar removes any dead skin cells.
-Leave to fully dry (if using wet) before storing it, as it can stick (especially if you’re using the square Lush tins)
-Remove from the shower once you are finished, as prolonged water exposure will cause it to disintegrate
-Chop it up into smaller pieces, large enough for a single use – this can help with disintegration!
The Rough With The Smooth body scrub retails for a very respectable £5.95, and you get multiple uses out of it, so I’d definitely say it’s worth buying. If you want the square storage tin, that’ll cost an additional £2.95 (personally, I keep mine in a small Tupperware tub, which works just as well!)
Ask for a demo in store to see if this is the body scrub for you!
