YELLOW SUBMARINE BATH BOMB | REVIEW

I am SO excited to be writing this review! The Beatles are by far my favourite band of all time and I was so happy when Lush decided to bring out a Beatles-themed bath bomb! I first caught a glimpse of this bath bomb on Lush’s instagram. It was released at the 2017 Lush Summit in London. I live about 6 hours from London and I definitely couldn’t afford the train fare so I wasn’t able to make it down. This was the product from the Summit that I loved the most and I was so so SO happy when Lush decided to make it an official main line item!

Yellow Submarine is utterly breathtaking, from it’s design to it’s scent. It’s obviously named after the well-known Beatles song (and album) “Yellow Submarine”, which is a personal favourite of mine! It’s scent very much captures a tropical scene, with beautiful Brazilian Orange Oil, which gives your skin a boost of refreshment. It doesn’t specifically say this in the ingredients, but I did hint a slight scent of Coconut as well, which definitely added to the tropical vibes. It also contains Lemongrass oil, which is a fab natural antiseptic.

It’s made of up of two main colours: vibrant yellow and pink, which turn your bath water a gorgeous peach colour, with glints of the “Fandango” lustre (don’t worry, the lustre is quite minimal for people who prefer less glittery baths).

HOLDING THE BATH BOMB 1.jpg

IN THE BATH FINAL 1.jpg

It’s a slow fizzer, so you can enjoy it’s beautiful swirls of pink and yellow in the water for the duration of your bath. I personally prefer faster fizzing bombs, but I can understand why people enjoy long-lasting bombs.

Yellow Submarine is a super moisturising bath bomb and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. The lustre is quite subtle, so I didn’t really have any that stayed on my skin (no problems with bath staining either).

Overall, this is a fabulous bath bomb and I’m definitely going to be stocking up! And for only £3.95, this bath bomb has such great value for money!

Hope you enjoyed this review and watch out for brand new reviews on some of the latest Lush releases!

SCRUBEE BODY SCRUB | REVIEW

Hi guys! I’m back with another review and it’s a new product! Scrubee was released for Mother’s Day but I missed it so I was ecstatic when Lush announced they’d be becoming permanent!

Scrubee is such an adorable product and it’s super unique, compared to other Lush body scrubs. I also like how Scrubee is almost a combination of a body scrub and a body butter/moisturiser. It is made using Shea butter and Cocoa Butter, which are both fabulously moisturising. I enjoy having a quick shower before bed in the hot weather, so having a 2-in-1 product is ideal for me!

Scrubee is part of the “Honey I washed the kids” scent family. I haven’t tried many of the other products in the family but as soon as I smelt Scrubee in the shop (the revamped York shop – would recommend a visit!) I knew I had to have it. It has a predominantly honey scent, but it contains Brazilian Orange Oil and Bergamot Oil, which add a richness to it’s overall scent. It’s absolutely gorgeous!

Like the other scrubs (and solid products) Lush make, Scrubee is best used in the shower but not left under the running water. I personally use it all over my body before I get in the shower, then wash it off before I start my hair routine. This has really worked well for me. If I do get Scrubee wet I usually leave it to dry on top of a Tupperware box until it’s bone dry again.

In my opinion, the best feature of Scrubee is the use of ground coconut shell and almond as it’s exfoliant. I usually use sugar scrubs (Rough with the Smooth of late), so I did find the coconut shell a little rough, but I got used to it quite quickly. I very much appreciate how well it managed to rid my legs of my flaky, dry skin! Also, a perfect moisturiser for after you’ve shaved your legs!

Overall, I absolutely adore this product and I’d definitely recommend it! It lasts for ages, so it’s definitely worth the £6.95! Give it a try in store if you’re STILL unconvinced!

Ingredients: Fair Trade Organic Cocoa Butter Fair, Trade Shea Butter, Ground Coconut Shell, Perfume, Honey, Ground Almonds, Coconut Oil, Bergamot Oil, Brazilian Orange Oil, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Limonene, Linalool

Hope you enjoyed the review!

SEX BOMB BATH BOMB | REVIEW

Hey everyone! I’m back for another review of a classic Lush product: Sex bomb bath bomb! This is a cute little bath bomb that I’ve never tried before, so I was excited to give it a go! It looks adorable and smells wonderful. I’d never really been drawn to it before, but after discovering it shares some of it’s scent with the Lust Perfume (one of my favs!) I was intrigued and decided to go for it!

The bath bomb itself is pink and purple, with some pastel pink rose “petals” nestled within it. These petals are actually made of rice paper. It turns your bath water a gorgeous pink colour. The rose petals slowly drift across the water, which is a nice touch.

DSC_0849FINAL.jpg

This would be a perfect bath bomb if you were looking to enjoy a bath with your partner (this would be amazing for Valentine’s Day!). Sex Bomb’s main ingredient is Jasmine Absolute, which is known to be quite sensual, as well as adding a floral element to it’s overall scent.

DSC_0851FINAL.jpg

It also contains Clary Sage oil, which is very soothing and relaxing, and Ylang-Ylang oil, which adds a sweet note to the scent. These scents all combine to create an amazing scent! I can’t believe I’ve never tried this one before! I’m definitely going to be repurchasing!

This bath bomb is only £3.75, so it’s one of the cheaper bath products. This would make a great present either for yourself or for that special person in your life! Ask for a demo in store to try before you buy!

I really hoped you enjoyed this review and liked my featured image! I thought I’d change it up a bit! Lots of new exciting posts coming soon, so follow to keep up to date!

ULURU BATH BOMB | REVIEW

This is a super exciting review for me because this was the first ever product I’ve ordered from the Lush Kitchen!

*for those of you that don’t know, the Lush Kitchen sells fresh exclusives that are made in small batches, they release the menu items for the week on a Friday*

As soon as I saw this bath bomb advertised on the Lush Kitchen Instagram page (go follow them for updates on new products!) I was obsessed. Everything about this bath bomb appealed to me, from the colour to the scent. I’m a big fan of citrus scents, especially in the summer time, so the Brazilian Orange Oil and Lemon Myrtle Oil in Uluru appealed to me. It also contains Sandalwood Oil, which is one of my favourite essential oils. It’s a very fresh scent, so it’s perfect for the spring/summer.

The bath bomb itself is a vibrant orange colour, with a pink trim and small red & yellow flecks within it. It turns your bath water a lovely pastel orange/peach. It’s not a particularly flashy bath bomb, but it’s super soothing and moisturising and the scent stays on your skin for hours afterwards.

Uluru definitely lived up to my expectations and if it ever returns to the kitchen then I’ll be sure to grab a few more.

Overall, my experience with the Lush kitchen was great. The delivery of my items took about a week, which is a little longer than normal, but this wouldn’t put me off ordering from the kitchen again. If you want the freshest products you can get, then the Lush Kitchen is the way to go (plus, the packaging is super cute!)

I hope you enjoyed this review – follow my blog for more Lush reviews!

Intergalactic bath bomb | Review

Hey guys, back with another bath bomb review and it’s another classic – Intergalactic! This truly is one of Lush’s most iconic bath bombs and it was one my own first. If you’re looking for that bright blue, glittery Lush bath, then this is the one for you!

Intergalactic has always been a firm favourite and I’ve been repurchasing it for years. There was a period of time when it was banned in my house, because I forgot to wash the bath out and the glitter stained the tub, but those dark days are behind me now.

It’s a very refreshing bath bomb, with Peppermint Oil taking centre stage. This, mixed with Grapefruit oil, gives your bath a gorgeous minty yet citrus scent. I’ve found it to be a good mood-booster for when you’re having a meh type of day. It’s certainly my go-to for when my depression is just too much to handle!

This is a very colourful bath bomb, featuring neon blue, yellow and pink. These colours combined great a deep blue galaxy in your bath. Popping candy adds an element of surprise and really makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

DSC_0811FINAL.jpg

Intergalactic is absolutely packed with lustre (three types to be exact), which isn’t for everyone. If you decide to give this one a go, please rinse your bath straight after it drains! It will stain your bath tub!

It retails for £4.25 (a little heartbroken, swear it used to be below £4), but it’s well worth it. Personally, I’d stockpile them so you’ll have one ready for when you have one of those days.

If you’re still unsure, pop into your local Lush store and ask for a demo! You won’t be disappointed!

Hope you enjoyed the review, more coming soon!

#SAVEYOGABOMB | REVIEW

This is a very sad post for me to write, as Yoga bomb is being  discontinued. I’m not 100% sure when they’ll be completely discontinued, but at the moment I can’t find them on Lush’s UK website (it is still on the US website). I’ve always loved Yoga bomb and it’s been my go-to anxiety-busting bomb for a number of years. I’m also very sad that Yoga bomb doesn’t share it’s unique scent with any other Lush product. I’m hoping the kitchen will bring it back at some point. Anyway, on with the review!

Yoga bomb’s main feature, personally, is it’s signature scent, with the main product being Sandalwood oil. This gives Yoga bomb a gorgeous earthy scent. Other ingredients include Olibanum oil and Ho Wood oil. These beautiful oils combine to create a very relaxing scent, perfect for when your day has been tough!

Don’t be deceived by this bath bomb’s “plain” appearance, for it holds secrets! The bath bomb initially releases a gorgeous orange colour, which turns your bath water a beautiful orange-gold colour, with plenty of lustre (honestly, this gives Intergalactic a run for it’s money in terms of glitter content!).

DSC_0787FINAL.jpg

But then…

DSC_0798FINAL.jpg

Your bath explodes into a rainbow of blue, purple and green! This bath bomb really is a showstopper in terms of bath art. It’s a slow-fizzer as well, so you can enjoy the show throughout your bath.

Overall thoughts?

Scent? 10/10

Color/bath art? 8/10

Bath time experience? 9/10

Mood-boosting? 10/10

This bath bomb retails for £4.25, and if you see it back on the UK website, goddammit buy this bath bomb! You’ll thank me next time you’re having a meh day!

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Fragrance, Cream of Tartar, Cassie Absolute, Olibanum Oil, Ho Wood Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Benzyl Benzoate, Eugenol, Limonene, Linalool, Snowflake Lustre; Frosty Holly and Gold Glimmer Lustre

FROZEN BATH BOMB | REVIEW

After finally accepting the fact that I can’t function without Lush I decided to make a small order of bath products (despite being desperately poor). The main goal of the order was to acquire some Yoga bombs before they are discontinued, but I also “accidentally” picked up a few other bits as well, one being Frozen. It holds a special place in my heart as it’s one of the very first bath bombs I tried from Lush (so I suppose I can blame it on my crippling broke-ness now).

Frozen is a truly beautiful bath bomb and it is one that will never disappoint you. Over the Christmas period I tried lots of bath bombs, and found some of them to be a little disappointing. You don’t get this with Frozen. It looks great, smells great and looks amazing in the bath.

It has a gorgeous uplifting scent, with soothing Neroli oil and refreshing Grapefruit oil. It leaves your skin feeling soft and nourished and even works wonders for your hair (a lot of bath bombs seem to make my hair “sticky”). It’s combination of blue, white and silver create a gorgeous pattern on the surface of the water, and turns it a vibrant blue, with sparkling lustre.

DSC_0776FINAL.jpg

DSC_0779FINAL.jpg

This is a Lushie must-have! If you’re new to Lush and wondering what bath bomb to get, this is a staple for sure. If you want drama and magic, this is a bath bomb that can provide that.

Again, with bath bombs that contain lustre (and especially this one, as the lustre is quite a vibrant silver) your bath will need a quick rinse afterwards, to prevent any staining.

This bath bomb retails for £4.25 (I’m pretty sure this bath bomb used to be cheaper?).

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Perfume, Grapefruit Oil, Neroli Oil, Rose Oil, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Lilial, Geraniol, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool, Snowflake Lustre, Silver Glimmer Lustre, Colour 42090, Colour 42053

Sacred Lotus bath bomb | Review

Hi guys, here’s another review for you guys and this is a really exciting one! As soon as this became live on the website, I immediately put it into my basket. It is one of the most unique looking bath bombs I’ve ever seen. It caught my eye straight away and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

This bath bomb is made up of Jasmine Absolute, Neroli Oil and Tonka Absolute, giving it a gorgeous, floral scent. It’s a very refreshing scent though, not too sickly sweet. However, in the water is where this bath bomb really shines! It’s gorgeous purple and yellow swirl together to create beautiful patterns on top of the water. The purple “petals” break off and fizz on their own, which really makes the experience last that little bit longer, as the main body of the bath bomb is quite a fast fizzer.

DSC_0766FINAL.jpg

It turns your bath water a lovely muted purple colour, with plenty of perfectly named “Snowflake lustre”. There was actually a lot more lustre than I had anticipated, so make sure you rinse your bath straight after! The bath water isn’t that pigmented, but it really does make up for that in lustre.

Overall, this bath bomb has a very holistic feel to it, especially with the Lotus’s ties to serenity and peace. If you’re in need of a mood-boosting bath, then I’d recommend giving this one a go.

RRP: £4.25

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Snowflake Lustre, Neroli Oil, Jasmine Absolute, Tonka Absolute, Cream of Tartar, Water (Aqua), Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Amyl, Cinnamal, Coumarin, Limonene, Linalool, Colour 45410, Colour 47005, Colour 42090, Colour 45350

MOTHER EARTH BATH BOMB | MOTHER’S DAY 2017

Hi guys! Sorry it’s been a while since my last Lush review! Things have been a bit crazy in my life and I just haven’t got round to having baths as frequently (I know, how horrible). Anyway, here is the final review in my Mother’s Day 2017 series and I thought I’d leave the undoubtedly best to last! Mother Earth!

This was my first XL bath bomb (sadly had missed all the others in the kitchen), so I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I had no anticipated the sheer size of this product and it really did live up to it’s name. I spent a good 10 minutes just holding it and staring at it. After the initial shock/awe, the first thing that hit me was the smell. A very fresh peppermint. I was a little bit worried, because I thought the Tangerine Oil would be more prominent that the the Peppermint Oil. However, I actually enjoyed the scent! I usually steer away from minty smells (reminds me too much of dental products) but I was pleasantly surprised by this one!

This bath bomb really is gorgeous. It looks exactly like the Earth and it’s everything I had imagined and more! However, the real joy came when I took a bath with this bomb, and found that hidden inside was a vibrant pink core!

DSC_0754FINAL.jpg

When combined with the blue/green hues of the outer shell, it turned the water a gorgeous deep purple. A quick side note: The bath water was so pigmented that it stained my toes, toenails and the blonde ends of my hair. This doesn’t bother me in the slightest, but if it bothers you, I’d steer clear of this bomb.

The patterns this bath bomb created in the water were gorgeous! And they just kept on coming! I’d say this bath bomb took roughly 15 minutes to fully dissolve, which is mighty impressive!

DSC_0757FINAL.jpg

Mother Earth does contain some lustre, so I’d advise washing out the bath as soon as you’re finished, to avoid any unwanted staining (or to avoid being shouted out for making the bath glittery!)

Overall, this is an amazing bath bomb and if they come back in stock on the website, or you see them in the Oxford Street shop (they’re OS exclusive), grab one! They’re on the more pricey side at £7.95 each, but to be honest that’s to be expected for an XL bath bomb.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cream of Tartar, Water, Siberian Pine Nut Oil, Tangerine Oil, Cypress Oil, Peppermint Oil, Limonene, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Candy Pink Lustre and Frosty Holly Lustre

Hope you enjoyed the review!

Ups-A-Daisy bath bomb | Mother’s Day 2017

Another review of one of the Mother’s Day 2017 products.  This time, it’s the Ups-a-Daisy bath bomb! I was super excited to try this one out, after seeing pictures of it online. It’s super cute, bright and colourful – perfect for Spring.

It’s full of beautiful essential oils, such as Rosewood oil and orange oil. It’s got a very nice, fresh scent to it, which is ideal for Springtime baths! The scent really lifted my spirits on a rainy Spring evening!

DSC_0711FINAL.jpg

This bath bomb looks very colourful and it doesn’t disappoint in the bath! It’s a slow fizzer, so plenty of time to appreciate the gorgeous mix of colours that spiral out of the centre. It turns your bath water a lovely muted orange colour and it’s very soft on the skin. Rosewood oil actually has antiseptic properties, so it’s a very healing bath (or so it feels!). It’s got a little bit of lustre in it, but nothing too crazy, so don’t worry about it staining your bath at all. I barely noticed any glitter once the bath had drained.

DSC_0719FINAL.jpg

A very short and sweet review! As this is part of the Mother’s Day range, it’d recommend picking up one of these bath bombs either for yourself or as a thoughtful gift to your mum!

This bath bomb is only £3.50 (which I think is really good given it’s size), so why not?

Snowie Bubble bar | RIP David Bowie

(I am very aware that it is March)

Hi guys! Another bubble bar review today! This time, it’s Snowie, a bubble bar dedicated to the late and great David Bowie, who passed away 10th January 2016. As soon as I saw this product online, I knew I had to own it. It’s a cute little “snowman”, with the iconic Ziggy Stardust lightning bolt across it. It’s super cute and it’s full of gorgeous lustre. When I opened mine on Christmas Day, it was a little crumbled, some of the lightning bolt was missing and so was the blue eye. However, this didn’t really matter to me – I was just so excited to have it!

The fact that the main component of the bubble bar is white made me a little dubious about how it would perform in the bath, but I was very surprised! It turned my water a gorgeous milky white, with plenty of lustre. It instantly reminded me of the Christmas period. It produced huge amounts of bubbles as well – my bath was completely overwhelmed! You definitely could get at least two uses out of it, but I couldn’t bring myself to chop it in half.

It smells super fresh and uplifting, with key ingredients of Neroli and Grapefruit oil. It stayed on my skin/hair for hours afterwards and I woke up the next day still smelling great!

Sadly, this bubble bar was part of the Christmas range, but I’m hoping they’ll bring it back for next year, as an ongoing tribute to Bowie. This was such a nice way for Lush to honour him and the design is absolutely perfect! If this product returns for Christmas 2017, I’d 100% recommend getting one, for a warm, uplifting bath!

This bubble bar retailed for £3.95.

Mum bath bomb | Mother’s Day 2017

Hi guys! I’m so excited, because my Mother’s Day purchases arrived a few days ago! I’m super, super excited because I picked up one of the much awaited Mother Earth bath bombs! Stay tuned for the review! I picked up a few other bath bombs, and one was, of course, the Mum bath bomb! I was on quite a tight budget this year, so I pretty excited when I saw this was only £2.95! Definitely a good one if you’re saving all your pennies for the Easter range!

Anyway, on with the review! This bath bomb is super cute and would make a great present for Mother’s Day! However, my mum doesn’t really enjoy bath bombs (at all), so I decided to buy it for myself. It’s quite a small bath bomb (which is to be expected at such a low price), but it still packs a punch! It’s made with Rose oil, so it has a gorgeous floral scent, with some nice citrus-y undertones from the Sicilian lemon and Sweet orange oils.

This is quite a fast-fizzer, so don’t blink! It turns your bath water a beautiful deep pink. I fancied some bubbles in my bath, so I added in a bit of Snow Fairy too. Embedded within the bath bomb is a secret message, which reads “I ❤ Mum”, which I thought was absolutely adorable (and another reason why this would be a A+ present!).

DSC_0697FINAL.jpg

DSC_0700FINAL.jpg

Overall, really nice little bath bomb, nice floral but fresh scent and a price that doesn’t break the bank!
